The Chinese side will have in-depth exchanges with Diplomatic Adviser to the French President Emmanuel Bonne when he is in China from December 13 to 14, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.
Mao made the comments when asked to elaborate on Bonne's upcoming visit to China.
"During Diplomatic Adviser to French President Emmanuel Bonne's visit to China, Director [of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee] Wang Yi will have a strategic dialog with him, making strategic communication on implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state and deepening bilateral cooperation across various fields, while having in-depth exchanges of views on international and regional issues of common concern," she said.
"This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and France. In May, President Xi Jinping made a historic visit to France, when the two heads of state engaged in long and high-level discussions, providing strategic guidance for the development of China-France and China-Europe relations. In November, the two heads of state met again during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and reached multiple consensus on further developing China-France and China-Europe relations," said Mao.
"The year 2025 marks the beginning of the second 60 years of China-France relations. China looks forward to advancing the implementation of the consensus reached between the two heads of state through this dialog, consolidating political mutual trust, enhancing practical cooperation and continuously deepening the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to guide China-Europe relations into a sound and steady development, and jointly uphold multilateralism and address global challenges," she said.
