An immersive flower light show celebrating the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland triggered their memory of the fresh and colorful spring in the region, said two Macao students as they visited a museum in Beijing recently.
The flowers immersive light show made its debut in November and offered a captivating walk-through experience full of blooming flowers projected by state-of-the-art LED lights.
As a special unit of the broader immersive exhibition titled "Meet the World of Flowers", the show celebrated the cultural gems of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
Using 3D light sculpting and digital technology the exhibition created a 1,300-square-meter floral wonderland with 12 themed areas, inviting visitors into a mesmerizing sea of vibrant hues and offering a truly enchanting sensory experience.
Real floral props were integrated into each section and the shiny fragments were pieced together to make up various figures of animals, plants and natural landscapes and as seasonal landscapes unfold seamlessly, visitors can immerse in a world where nature and romance blend.
Macao students who are currently studying in Beijing said the show gave them immersive experience by inviting them into "a secret garden" where they feel like living in a fairytale world.
"I think it's totally gorgeous because I have [watched] a very impressive scene is that when we enter the first scene that huge flock facing us with the projection of the spectacular imagery. I was one of these shocked and it feels like I have entered into the secret garden and feeling like I'm the protagonist. And from that moment on, I was really immersed into this exhibition," said Yu Cheok Tong, student of the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The wavering flowers also created a nostalgic scene for the students from Macao, who said the show made them recall the springs in the region.
"Yeah, I think the show is really breathtaking and you can see all the flowers and puddles are flowering in the wind and this just reminds me of Macao's spring," said Ng Wai Lam, student of the Beijing Normal University.
In particular, lotus as the symbol of Macao SAR holds special significance to the visiting students.
"Yeah, and also there is a lotus pool and [it] helped us to remind of our city, too," said Tong.
