Many young professionals in China have found business opportunities in new services like pet care and innovative fashion design rising with new demands.
The growing desire to spend quality time with pets has been prompting Chinese cities to explore "pet-friendly" transportation options.
The Shenzhen Baoan International Airport has launched China's first-ever Pet Waiting Lounge at its domestic cargo terminal, offering pet owners comprehensive services such as security checks, boarding assistance, and temporary pet care. This new facility ensures a secure and comfortable environment for pets while minimizing disruptions to other passengers.
"We have upgraded our facilities and services for pet travel, introducing an all-in-one service that offers pet lovers peace of mind with more thoughtful and convenient options," said Zhou Jie, president of Shenzhen Airport Domestic Cargo Terminal Company.
The ever-growing pet industry has led to an emergence of various pet-related professions. In Shenzhen, photographers have seized the business opportunity to help people capture the joy of their pets playing freely in the park.
"The pet park allows furry friends to play without restraint, enabling us to photograph them candidly rather than staged poses in a studio," said Ms. Wang, a pet photographer.
Inspired by the revival of traditional Chinese culture, young designers in southwest China's Guizhou Province are embarking on new careers.
With a large number of ethnic minority groups, Guizhou boasts attractive natural ecology, rich folk customs, as well as diverse forms of ethnic intangible cultural heritage.
Cultural and creative products planner and store operator Xie Jiao and her team have developed a line of products that highlight Guizhou's unique heritage, combining traditional elements like coarse cloth and silverware with contemporary design.
"Unlike traditional stores, we're not just selling items, we're building a community around our brand, sharing stories and design concepts on social media," she said.
Xie said that they plan to collaborate with local ethnic minority villages this year to further promote the regional culture.
