A heartwarming video has captured a giant panda cub exploring its surroundings with curiosity and playful energy at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

The footage showed the panda cub tried to step over the tree branch lying on the ground. After failing to step over the branch, the panda cub locked another tree branch and tried hard to step on it.

In a separate scene, the panda cub was wandering on a tree branch, and almost had a tumble when it tried to reach the leaves. After balancing itself, it managed to reach the leaves.

Panda cubs were mostly born between July and September, meaning they are still less than six months old.

Located in southwest China's Sichuan Province, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a world-renowned institution for the conservation of giant pandas.

The base is famous for its efforts in protecting and breeding giant pandas, red pandas, and other endangered wildlife exclusive to China, as well as for its educational outreach programs. It is now a major tourist attraction.
