People across China have been immersing in the charm of intangible cultural performances during the Spring Festival holiday, which runs from Jan 28 to Feb 4 this year.

In Muchuan County in southwest China's Sichuan Province, a large-scale parade featuring many intangible cultural heritage projects, such as the Muchuan grass dragon and the Lidian dragon-shaped lanterns was held locally. Accompanied by the exciting music rhythm, two lifelike golden dragons made of straw danced briskly under the coordination of more than 40 performers.

"This is the first time I've seen this Muchuan grass dragon, a live performance. It's really amazing, really good," said a tourist named Linghu Changqing.

In 2008, the craft of making Muchuan grass dragons was inscribed on the list of national-level intangible cultural heritage in China.

As night falls in Wugong Mountain scenic area of east China's Jiangxi Province, the iconic intangible heritage performance of the molten iron fireworks captivated spectators with molten iron tossed into the air, creating a dazzling shower of sparks against the backdrop of thousands of lanterns prepared by the scenic area, which brought the festive atmosphere to a climax.

"Today is my first time to watch it in person. It's really heart stirring, like a sky full of stars," said a tourist surnamed Lu.

At an ancestral temple in Lubao Township of south China's Guangdong Province, intangible cultural heritage performances including lion dance, Choy Lee Fut kung fu (a Chinese martial art style), molten iron fireworks, fire pots have wowed wave after wave of visitors.

In Wuyi Mountain scenic area of east China's Fujian Province, the outdoor musical Impression Dahongpao, a rock tea grown in the local area, was staged, with the performances on the first day (Friday) attracting a large audience of about 10,000 people.

"This is my first time watching it. The whole scene was magnificent and really touched our souls," said Chen Qiang, a tourist.

Turkish Ambassador shares expectations for China's "two sessions"

      2025-03-05 22:31 Last Updated At:23:07

Türkiye's Ambassador to China says he will be keeping a close eye on the policy outcomes which will be set out during China's "two sessions", the country's highest-profile political event, which are now underway in Beijing.

As the biggest annual gathering on China's political calendar, the "two sessions" refers to the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC), the country's national legislature, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body.

The third session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC opened in Beijing on Tuesday, while the third session of the 14th NPC began on Wednesday.

In an interview with the China Global Television Network (CGTN), the Turkish Ambassador to China Ismail Hakki Musa highlighted the key areas he will be watching out for during this year's gathering.

He noted that China's development experience and its standing as a major economic powerhouse means that the outcomes of the "two sessions" will have a significant global impact.

"The most important topic at stake was, of course, the opening up, the idea of sharing the democratic experience [of] Chinese-style [modernization]. China provides one-third of the global growth. China represents almost one-fourth of the world economy. The focus is on deepening economic reforms and improving the business environment, the steps aimed at encouraging foreign investments also draws great attention. China is willing to attract more foreign direct investment. This will certainly benefit foreign businesses, including Turkish companies, who wish to increase their investments in China," he said.

"China tries to adapt itself to the new, challenging business environment as well. This has two versions. First, the labor market, second, the capital sphere. [I] understand it as enterprises, the investors, as the recent developments in innovation, and especially in artificial intelligence area. And all of these are being tackled during the 'two sessions'," the ambassador said.
