Blending comics, movies, and augmented reality animation, the exhibition showcases Hong Kong's unique urban culture through various visual approaches for a wider international audience, featuring drawings by Hong Kong comics artist Kwan-ho Cheung, Hong Kong illustrator Pearl Law, as well as Korean illustrator Kyutae Lee. It aims to promote Hong Kong culture and tourism through Hong Kong movies, comics and illustrations, fostering cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Korea through the exhibition and encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue between visual arts and film cultures.

Speaking at the exhibition's cocktail reception today (March 15), the Principal Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative (Tokyo), Miss Winsome Au, welcomed the return of the HKAC to Korea since its last exhibition in Seoul in 2021.

"Over the past years, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has been proactively developing the arts, culture and creative industries, while making every effort to enhance publicity about Hong Kong overseas. The Chief Executive announced in his 2024 Policy Address that we will develop Hong Kong into a premier tourism destination through innovative thinking and making better use of our rich and unique resources. These elements, combined with our edges in technology, animation and comics, the performing arts, film and television culture, and more, will help to instil the concept of 'tourism is everywhere in Hong Kong'," Miss Au said.

She added that the exhibition provides a valuable platform for Korean audiences to appreciate the unique culture of Hong Kong and also looked forward to more exchanges and collaborations in arts and culture between Hong Kong and Korea.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and is open from 10am to 7pm until March 30 at Exhibition Hall 6 at the Insa Arts Centre, Seoul, Korea. To mark the occasion, a series of spin-off events featuring the artists from Hong Kong and Korea is being held March 15 and 16, including a live drawing art jam by Hong Kong illustrator Pearl Law and Korean artist Zipcy, a special talk on "City of Darkness: Crossover and Adaptation" by the author of "City of Darkness", Yu Yi, and editor-in-chief of Cineplay Sungchul Joo, and a comics and zine-making workshop by Pearl Law.
