The "AI Plus" went under the spotlight during the two-day China Development Forum (CDF) 2025, which concluded in Beijing on Monday.
The forum brought together over 100 representatives from major international organizations, leading multinational enterprises, and significant research institutions to discuss the relationship between macroeconomic policies and economic growth, reforms aimed at stimulating new growth drivers, promotion of consumption and domestic demand, scientific and technological innovation meant to lead the development of new quality productivity, and artificial intelligence intended to promote inclusive development.
Engaging in heated discussions, many Chinese and foreign attendees fixed their eyes on a future of "AI Plus", where AI seamlessly integrates into every facet of industrial development and people's lives.
At the Symposium on Developing New Quality Productive Forces through Scientific and Technological Innovation during the forum, the recent buzzword "AI Plus" was mentioned numerous times.
Many business representatives said that they have already begun developing and applying AI in their respective fields.
"Over the past few years, we have been investing heavily in our large-scale AI technology including large models. Throughout the entire medical process, we have begun to introduce multiple innovative treatment [technologies], including using Copilot during medical visits. We also use AI to write medical records and provide remote monitoring of patients at home after hospital discharge," said Wu Qinan, CEO, United Family Healthcare.
"In every aspect, [we work] in a top-down manner. All functional departments are thinking deeply how to integrate with AI, how to utilize this technology to help overcome challenges, reduce cost, increase efficiency, and then reduce human errors," said Qian Jing, vice president, Jinko Solar.
In addition, many attendees also claimed that AI will penetrate into more fields in the future to bring positive and profound transformations.
"From the hotel's advance booking to check-in procedures, to some industrial and mechanized processes during the stay, and to check-out, we try to integrate elements of AI. For anyone operating in China now, it is impossible to do without AI," said Lu Haiqing, global vice president, IHG Hotels and Resorts.
"AI could be entirely transformative of global economies and global politics. It's not just things like ChatGPT or DeepSeek. There are many different kinds of applications for AI in industry, from how you manufacture things to the way medicines are developed or therapies are provided. So it could be really transformative in a positive way," said Scott Kennedy, Senior Adviser and Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
Many attendees said that they look forward to engaging in more technological exchanges under th "AI Plus" initiative in China in the future, and exploring the possibilities brought by AI.
They also called for efforts to seize and effectively utilize the development opportunities brought by AI, as the integration of AI in various fields has become an irreversible trend.
