The Global Digital Economy Conference 2024 opened in Beijing on Tuesday, bringing together more than 300 distinguished foreign guests from over 50 countries, regions, and international organizations.
Themed "opening up a new era on digital intelligence, sharing a new digital future", the four-day event will hold themed forums and panel discussions, as well as events on digital governance, AI, and the integration of new digital and real industries.
The conference will release cutting-edge digital technology achievements and application scenarios and promote international cooperation on digital economy.
Global digital economy conference opens in Beijing
Chinese President Xi Jinping's fifth visit to Kazakhstan produced fruitful results, marking another milestone in the history of bilateral relations between the two sides.
At the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Xi paid a state visit to Kazakhstan from Tuesday to Wednesday and attended the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Kazakhstan attached great importance to the visit, with President Tokayev personally greeting Xi upon his arrival at the airport, where a group of Kazakh children sang the song "Ode to the Motherland" in Chinese.
At a welcome ceremony held at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace in Astana, Kazakh fighter jets flew overhead with red and yellow smoke trails, the colors of Chinese national flag.
The two presidents then held official talks where they shared an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas and international and regional issues of common concern.
"The friendly relations between China and Kazakhstan are rooted in the millennia-old ancient Silk Road, reinforced by 32 years of cooperation after the establishment of diplomatic relations, and have reached the high level of a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership. Relations between China and Kazakhstan are defined by lasting friendship, a high degree of mutual trust and the sharing of weal and woe," Xi said while holding talks with Tokayev.
Xi and Tokayev also jointly met the press, attended a welcoming banquet, oversaw the launch of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route via video link, and witnessed the unveiling of the plaques of the Chinese Culture Center in Astana, the Kazakh Culture Center in Beijing, and the Kazakhstan Branch of Beijing Language and Culture University.
Political mutual trust between China and Kazakhstan reached a new height during Xi's visit, which has also added new impetus to practical cooperation, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The Chinese president's trip to Kazakhstan also achieved new outcomes in people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and further substantiated coordination on international affairs, the Foreign Ministry said.
China will work with Kazakhstan to deliver on the important common understandings between the two presidents, upgrade cooperation across the board, and jointly usher in a brighter future for China-Kazakhstan relations, the ministry added.
