The 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) broadcast vans developed by China Media Group (CMG) were officially put into use at the Stade de France (Stadium of France) in Paris on Thursday for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games coverage.

It marks the second time for the CMG's "Chinese red" broadcast vans to provide overseas broadcast technical team support for the the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) after the Tokyo Games.

It is also the first time for the vans to produce the 8K public signal for the Summer Olympics.

During the the upcoming Paris Olympics, the vans will bring 8K international public signals for track and field events as well as the closing ceremony to global audiences.

CMG President Shen Haixiong went to the Stade de France on Thursday to inspect the preparations of the UHD broadcast vans, other technical facilities and productions teams.

The vans drew international attention following their arrival in Paris, with overseas Chinese in Paris expressing their excitement and pride.

Shen said that the entry into operation of the broadcast vans not only represents another breakthrough for the CMG and even Chinese media organizations in broadcasting and reporting the Olympics, but also signifies that China's core telecommunication technologies have reached the world's leading level.

The CMG technical team in Paris is urged to perfectly present the innovative technological achievements independently developed by the CMG, such as 4K/8K UHD, AI, Audio Vivid, XR and VR, among others during the Games.

The Paris Olympic Games are set to take place from July 26 to August 11, followed by the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
