Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday extended congratulations to the 2024 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit via video.
Xi pointed out that a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is now developing rapidly, with artificial intelligence (AI) and other new technologies thriving, which has greatly improved mankind's ability to understand and transform the world, while bringing a series of unpredictable risks and challenges.
In keeping with the general trend towards digitization, network, and intelligence, people should take innovation as the primary driving force, security as the bottom-line to stick to and inclusiveness as the value to pursue, so as to push for innovative, safe and inclusive development of cyberspace and work together to march into a still better digital future, Xi said.
China is willing to work with all countries around the world to take historical initiative in information revolution and jointly build a community with a shared future in cyberspace, making the internet more beneficial to the people and the world, Xi said.
Themed on "Embracing a People-Centered and AI-for-Good Digital Future – Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", the Wuzhen Summit officially opened on Wednesday in Wuzhen Town, Tongxiang City of east China's Zhejiang Province.
Hosted by the WIC and organized by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the event runs through Friday.
