DETROIT (AP) — Jaden Ivey sustained what appeared to be a serious leg injury after scoring 22 points in the Detroit Pistons' 105-96 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.
With 10:07 to play and Detroit leading 84-79, Ivey and Orlando's Cole Anthony were going for the ball when Anthony slipped and fell. His momentum carried him into Ivey's planted leg, and the 22-year-old immediately fell to the floor, grabbing his left shin in obvious agony.

After a lengthy delay, Ivey was placed on a stretcher and wheeled off the floor.
The Magic had scored the first four points of the quarter, but Tim Hardaway Jr. scored nine points in the next 6:30 to give the Pistons a 99-90 lead.
Cade Cunningham added 19 points and nine assists for the Pistons, who have won four of five. Jalen Duren added 18 points and 11 rebounds to help Detroit overcome 24 turnovers.
Jalen Suggs had 24 points for Orlando, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 21. The Magic have lost six of nine.
Magic: Orlando has five players who attended college in Michigan, but former Michigan Wolverines Franz (oblique) and Moritz Wagner (knee) are out with long-term injuries. Caleb Houston and Jett Howard also went to Michigan, and Gary Harris attended Michigan State.
Pistons: Cunningham (knee) didn't attack the glass as much as he does when completely healthy — he only had two rebounds in the first half — but didn't seem limited while cutting and driving.
The Pistons led 73-55 with nine minutes left in the third quarter and appeared to be cruising to an easy victory. However, the Magic went on a 20-7 run to cut it to 80-75.
Detroit turned the ball over eight times in eight minutes to help Orlando get back into the game, but scored the final four points of the quarter to take a nine-point lead.
Caldwell-Pope had 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting in the first half, hitting three 3-pointers. His teammates were 13 of 39 overall and 0 of 10 from behind the arc.
Both teams are back in action Friday. Orlando is at Toronto, and Detroit is home against Charlotte.

VIENNA (AP) — Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said Saturday he will resign in the coming days after talks on forming a new government failed a second time.
The announcement came after the People’s Party and the Social Democrats continued coalition talks a day after the liberal Neos party’s surprise withdrawal from discussions.
“Unfortunately I have to tell you today that the negotiations have ended and will not be continued by the People’s Party,” Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer from the conservative People’s Party said in a statement on social media.
He said that “destructive forces” in the Social Democratic Party have “gained the upper hand” and that the People’s Party will not sign on to a program that is against economic competitiveness.
Social democratic leader Andreas Babler said he regretted the decision by the People’s Party to end the negotiations. “This is not a good decision for our country,” he said.
Babler said that one of the main stumbling blocks had to do with how to repair the “record deficit” left by the previous government.
“I have offered to Karl Nehammer and the People’s Party to continue negotiating and called on them not to get up," he told reporters Saturday evening.
The next government in Austria faces the challenge of having to save between 18 to 24 billion euros, according to the EU Commission. In addition, Austria has been in a recession for the past two years, is experiencing rising unemployment and its budget deficit is currently at 3.7% of Gross Domestic Product — above the EU’s limit of 3%.
The talks had dragged on since Austria’s president tasked the conservative chancellor in October with putting together a new government. The request came after all other parties refused to work with the leader of the far-right Freedom Party, which in September won a national election for the first time with 29.2% of the vote.
