In a captivating winter wonderland scene, a precious moment captured in southwest China's Sichuan Province shows a curious panda cub discovering the magic of snow for the very first time.
At the Shenshuping Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas (CCRCGP), a heartwarming scene unfolds as a curious panda cub, with eyes wide with wonder, watches in fascination as snowflakes gently fall, occasionally stretching out a tiny paw in a playful attempt to catch the delicate flakes.
The video footage was filmed on Dec 12 last year, and was released on the iPanda channel on Dec 17.
The panda cub and his twin brother were born in July 2023. Their mother Su Lin was born in 2005 at the San Diego Zoo in the United States.
The CCRCGP boasts the world's largest population of artificially bred giant pandas. Pioneering groundbreaking research in artificial breeding and training for the wilderness survival of these gentle giants, the center serves as a global hub for collaborative efforts.
With partnerships spanning 18 zoos across 16 countries and regions, 39 domestic animal breeding institutions, and over 10 research institutes, the center's dedication to panda preservation knows no bounds, ensuring a brighter future for these beloved bears.

Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy Hao Mingjin on Tuesday attended the inauguration of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in Accra, the capital of Ghana.
After the inauguration, Mahama met with Hao, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, on bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Hao conveyed Xi's warm congratulations and best wishes to Mahama. He said that China deeply values its traditional friendship with Ghana and remains committed to fostering China-Ghana relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China is ready to take this opportunity to enhance communication with Ghana within the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, aiming to elevate the China-Ghana strategic partnership to new heights, Hao said.
