The Chinese and Thai navies conducted exercises off the coast of Zhanjiang, south China's Guangdong Province, covering a range of subjects including anti-ship strike and joint air defense and anti-missile exercises.
The "Blue Strike-2025" joint naval training, running from March 26 to April 2, marks the sixth edition of their joint training program. It aims to deepen bilateral cooperation and enhance combined operational capabilities.
During the anti-ship strike exercise, the Chinese and Thai naval training fleet formed a single formation and quickly maneuvered to the intended sea area.
As simulated "air threats" came one after another during the training, the Chinese and Thai naval training fleet quickly sounded the battle alarm and formed an air defense formation to maneuver at high speed.
After locking onto the target, Chinese and Thai naval ships fired simulated shots at the target successively.
"In the joint air defense and anti-missile exercises, we created a combat-oriented environment to effectively test the performance of both sides' weapons and equipment. The exercises strengthened coordination of both sides in areas including command and communication, fire coordination, and other aspects of cooperation, further deepening joint operation capabilities," said Wang Zhengqiang, a Chinese marine.
The two navies also organized formation movement, joint search and rescue, maritime supply and other drills.
