The Ministry of Commerce has added 16 U.S. entities to China's export control list to safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations, including non-proliferation commitments, as it announced on Friday.

The export of dual-use items to the 16 U.S. entities is prohibited in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Export Control Law of the People's Republic of China and the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Export Control of Dual-Use Items, and other laws and regulations, said a spokesperson with the ministry.

These entities have been identified as engaging in activities that may endanger China's national security and interests, and any exporters are prohibited from violating these regulations, said the spokesperson in a statement.
