2016年加入英國外交部
帕默斯頓於2016年加入英國外交部，當時2歲，原本是待在「巴特西貓狗之家」（Battersea Dogs and Cats Home）的貓。在英國外交部的挑選下成為捕鼠官，並以英國歷史上任職時間最長的外交大臣帕默斯頓子爵（Lord Palmerston）的名字命名。在新冠病毒疫情期間，帕默斯頓遷出倫敦市中心的辦公大樓。

上任頭兩年 成功抓到27隻老鼠
