小型飛機突然在雷達消失
當地傳媒報道，38歲的莫里斯（John Morris）經常在社交媒體分享他載著2名孩子駕駛飛機的照片，23日這天他如常起飛，但飛機突然消失在雷達上，且過了降落時間還不見蹤影。

冰湖上發現飛機殘骸
搜救行動馬上展開，有人在圖斯圖梅納湖（Tustumena Lake）發現飛機殘骸。參與搜救行動的飛行員說：「當我看到殘骸時即時心碎了。但當我降低高度靠近時，竟然看到現場3個人，而且還活著，有反應，還能在冰湖上四處走動」。

三名生還者只受輕傷
阿拉斯加國民警衛隊成員24日成功救出約翰莫里斯與他的2名女兒，出動直升機把3人送往基奈半島一間醫療機構接受治療，據報3人傷勢輕微。
美國國家運輸安全委員會（NTSB）西太平洋地區負責人霍根森（Dennis Hogenson）表示，會調查事故原因，不排除與機件故障有關，但3人獲救已經是個最好的消息。
