綜合外媒報導，美國費城北區一名男子阿維萊斯（Benjamin Aviles）於3月21日因突發心臟疾病在家中猝逝。4月4日，家人為男子舉行葬禮，未曾想眾人抬棺進行下葬儀式時，墓地突然發生大規模塌陷事故。

抬棺者受傷 亡者兒子遭棺材重壓
據阿維萊斯的繼女羅德里格斯（Maribelle Rodriguez）透露，當時負責抬棺的人全數掉進墓地坑中且不幸受傷，包括腿部、手部及背部等多處部位受傷，其中阿維萊斯的兒子班傑明（Benjamin）傷勢最為嚴重，因為他整個人被棺材壓住。

家屬要求墓園與殯儀館道歉並賠償
事後，家屬將此次事故責任歸咎於墓園及殯儀館，認為墓地狀況不佳。羅德里格斯指出，對方應對此事負責並公開道歉，且葬禮儀式因突發情況中斷，理應做出相應的賠償。
