據外媒報道，2023年1月，丹佛市花了900萬美元（約7011萬港幣）聯邦補助款收購歇業的Stay Inn汽車酒店，計劃將之改造成支援住房(supportive housing)收容遊民。這座汽車酒店高四層樓，共有96間客房。但自從市府收購後，一直空置至今，現在僅以10美元（約77元港幣）出售。

附帶條件苛刻
這筆交易附帶兩個條件，首先是買家必須把這家破舊的汽車酒店，改造成適合居住的支援住房；其次是接下來的99年，該物業只限收入未達該地區平均所得30%的人申請居住。

酒店已廢棄多年

翻新酒店工程量巨大
現任市長強生(Mike Johnston)承認，先前市府官員的承諾並未實現，因為這幢建築不只需要重新裝修內部，還要大規模整修建築結構和水電管線，包括「修復人行道和欄桿結構，還要修復整個電力系統，不僅如此，新業主還要負責重新規劃房產座落地的整個街區，工程量巨大。
